What is a Wink?

Winks are funny cartoonish short animations designed to be used in Windows Live Messenger or posted on Facebook. You can use them to express a mood or a feeling and whenever you're looking for a quick greet.

How do I download Winks to my Windows Live Messenger?

In order to download a wink to your Windows Live Messenger you need to follow the 3 simple steps below:

1. Log in to your Windows Live Messenger account and pick your favorite wink.

2. Click any of the three "Download" buttons (on the top left corner of the product view area, on the bottom left corner of the product view area or the big orange "Download" button on the right panel). If the browser you're using is Internet Explorer you'll see a window with the title "Downloading Windows Live Messenger content" and the wink will automatically be transferred into your messenger. If the browser you're using is Mozilla Firefox or any other browser different from Internet Explorer, you'll download a file called "egreetings.exe" to your location of choice. This file contains your wink so double click on the "egreetings.exe" file and click Run when prompted so.

3. Find the wink you downloaded in your Windows Live Messenger "Your Winks" section when you open a conversation: just click the second yellow smiley button under the bar where you enter your message.

How do I share a wink on Facebook or other social networks?

1. Pick your wink

2. Click "Share on Facebook" on the left above or below the wink view area

3. Choose Post to My Wall, Friend's Wall or Other Social Networks and click "Publish"

How do I download emoticons?

1. Log in to your Windows Live Messenger account and pick your favorite emoticon.
